ALIAS AND PSEUDONYMS USE AMONG POLITICIANS FOR POLITICAL GAINS

Image
There is usually a range of reasons why people may prefer to use pseudonyms or alias names. Reasons ranging from concealing real identify to escape a lawful arrest to committing crimes against humanity. However, among politicians, the use of pseudonyms and aliases has been, in most cases, founded on personal political goals and greed. I have read and evaluated the political class across the world and concluded that the use of the alias and pseudonyms names by the political class often geared towards portraying themselves as either powerful people with extraordinary power to protect their people, or as good and down to earth leaders with a positive course towards helping humanity and bringing development. However, after a thorough review of the world political class, the overall strategic goal of alias and pseudonyms use is dictatorship, greed, bad governance, corruption, and wealth accumulation throughout tax payers. Let's look at the history of a few of them: 1. Joseph-Dé...

IN THE KENYAN BEDROOM

Image
Have you thought of a bedroom before? I know you haven’t. But in case you have thought about it, I am more than certain that, what traversed and visualized in your wits was, “a bedroom is a slumbering place”. Simply because we have two words conjoined in one; a bed and a room. That’s a silly thought. Anyway, in your aptitude, you are right, but in my capacity, you are conclusively and stupidly wrong. Allow me today, to solve this bedroom riddle. Casually and literary, under the disguise of ‘civilization, a bedroom is a room and a bed. However, in reality, we all know that in our extreme and obvious life scenarios, we need not have a bed to call it a bedroom. Right? Regardless of whether you reside in a bungalow or a maisonette   in the high end estates of Karen, in an apartment in Kilimani, in a flat in the densely populated drinking estate of Kahawa Wendani, or in the square shaped Mabati structures of Mukuru Kwa Njega, a bedroom is a bedroom; with a mattress, no mattress, w...

THE TALES OF THE SHANTY TOWN

Image
The writer airborne for 5 minutes The long route was usually my ideal way home from the town. I don't really know why I preferred the long route, but I guess I enjoyed the roars of River Thingithu. The town was trifling shanty town with more barber shops and drinking dens than there were vegetable vibandaski’s . The presence of many barber shops was an indication of high levels of joblessness among the young people. Engaging in barber shop business was undoubtedly also an indication of the young people's ambition for a better life. Besides each barber shop, there was at least two besmirched drinking dens. Dens that were stocked with the porridge looking liquor, 'marwa' and the foul smelling yellow liquor 'mugacha' . It was these drinking dens that had killed the aspirations of some of the fledgling people. In the evenings, I would often take a walk to the shanty town to pass time. Pass time listening to ragga music with my teeth busy gnawing the m...

THE DRAGONFLY STORY

Image
Am not very sure if you are all familiar with the dragon fly story. Nonetheless, am more certain that you are familiar with the dragonfly itself. During our childhood days, the older boys in the village and in upper primary school back in the days had a very peculiar way of "winning" a girl (s) of their choice. The dragon fly. I remember Mutua Wa Salasio , a huge tall and talkative boy, would boast to us how he had worn the heart of many beautiful, elegant girls. I recall him explaining how the dragonfly was his secret weapon. Every morning during the 10 O’clock classes break, he would gather at a landmark huge stone behind the class 8 classrooms where the older boys would surround him to listen to his hot, funny and dirty stories. No one knew the age and origin of this huge stone but Mutua Wa Salasio, would often tell us how his great grandfather is buried under that stone. The younger boys like me in the lower classes would later often join him in tens, ...

HOSPITALINI NILIPOWAKUTA MALAIKA: SEHEMU YA KWANZA

Image

RAILA ODINGA, GET OUT OF THE CORRUPT HANDSHAKE REGIME

Image
The Pan Africanist and Enigma of African politics, His Excellency Rt. Honorable Raila Odinga is a relentless fighter of equality and democracy, a fact that neither you or me can discredit. That goes without saying. However, he is a seasoned political failure, partly as a result of his own mistakes and largely as a result of mistakes resulting from ill advice by some of his political sycophants. A memorable mistake he did was failure to vie for reelection during the 2017 repeat election. I believed and still believe that if he never listened to his greedy political sycophants, he would be our president today. Anyway, that a sad story for another day. Today, the Enigma of African politics has been trapped into another failure; a hyena infested political hole. A hole worse than the Biblical David's lion infested den. The HANDSHAKE failure. It's the early moment that His Excellency Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo realises that this handshake is a well planned conduit to lay him down...

PARTICPATORY MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

Image
Writer addressing participants in a conference One of the significant concepts in contemporary management is participatory management (PM), which is traced by most writers in the academic literature to the post-World War II writings of scholars, such as Kurt Lewin, Douglas McGregor, Chris Argyris, H. Igor Ansoff, and Michael Porter (Kaufman , 2001). However, a number of management scholars have also written at more length on the origins and history of PM, such as Carroll and Schuler (1983) said that participatory management can be traced to the early 1960s, the writings of behavioral scientists, such as Douglas McGregor and Rensis Likert. Furthermore, Stanton (1993) believes that the origins of PM to two behavioral scientists, Lester Coch and John French, who wrote in the late 1940s but on the issue of organizational change (Kaufman, 2001). Different level of leadership styles leads to different levels of job satisfaction. Subordinates feel more satisfied when leaders s...

MORALS AND SELF CONTROL SUPERSEDES AN ERECTION

Image
I have been busy and its now that am catching up with world news; some devastating, others good and encouraging. This one is devastating. I have constantly reminded you that an erection knows no Priest, Pastor, Imam or civil servant. However, my believe is that morals and self control supersedes an erection. A 77 year old cardinal, Cardinal George Pell, the former Vatican treasurer and the most senior Catholic figure ever to be found guilty of sexual offences against children has been jailed for 6 years in Australia for sexually abusing 13-year-old choir boys in a Melbourne cathedral in 1996. A Sad Evening For Me My Good People. Cardinal George Pell, Former Vatican Treasure

IF A WOMAN HAS THESE 10 QUALITIES, NEVER LET HER GO

Did I tell you that am writing a book titled "The Backyard of relationships"? Over the last one week, I have been researching and reading a lot, over 30 literature book sources, to beef up my book. More often than not, we rush into marriages without a clear glimpse and understanding of the partner we intend to marry. In most cases, the partner is either pushed to us by our parents or peers, or we have impregnated one cute lady on a hit-and-run mission and circumstances force us into marrying them. In my reading, I have provided a conclusive summary of the qualities you should look for in a woman you intend to marry. If you have found a woman who has some or all of these qualities, TREAT her WELL and NEVER let her GO. 1. She is smarter than you According to Lawrence Whalley, professor emeritus of the University of Aberdeen who has been researching dementia for a long time found that a smart woman can protect you from dementia later in life. The idea is that a smart par...

A CHRONOLOGICAL DETAIL OF THE ROT IN OUR CHURCHES

Image
Just as we condemn homophobia and support ‘the rights of consenting individuals to privacy in their sexual relations’, we must also grant far greater attention to the sexual abuse of children. The same zeal and zest that we are fighting corruption in the country is the same zeal and zest that we should fight corruption and sexual abuse in today’s modern church. Three decades ago, while I was growing up, the Men of God, including catechist, church chairmen, and choirmasters were a disciplined bunch of people who observed and adhered to the principle of dignity and respect to every human being; the young and the old, the male and the female gender, the boys, ladies and women. I don’t recall any cases of molestation, teenage pregnancy and sexual assault by these men of God. Today, the Men of God have become beasts. Sexual and corrupt beasts who are preying on the young and underage boys and girls. Impregnating and sodomizing them at a rate that needs global and national atten...

LET AKOTHEE BE THE WOMAN SHE IS

Image
Over the last few days, we have been holed up at the Safari Park 5 Star Hotel discussing matters concerning Social Behaviour Change in Africa at the 1st African Social Behaviour Conference. A conference that brought together more than 1,000 delegates from across the world who included researchers, corporate people, government representatives and Small and Medium Enterprise businesses. Kenyan singer, Akothee  In relationship to the Social Behaviour Change theme, allow me now to discuss matters concerning Akothee, whose talk has been trembling the lips of almost every Kenyan, matters that have made the lips of even those who have never known morals, busy dancing to the immorality song. We cannot progress if we continue with the same thought and slogan of "everything is immoral". We need to transform our thinking. We need to transform how we perceive people, things and or places. This is only possible we engage and agree to drive the social behaviour change agenda. ...

REINCARNATION IS NOT A MYTH. MAN-EATERS OF TSAVO ARE NOT A MYTH; JOWIE IS NOT A MYTH; HE HAS REINCARNATED AS A WOMAN-EATER.

For many years, I read about reincarnation. For those many years, I have doubted anything to do with reincarnation. In those many years, I have only trusted and believed in my own Christians doctrines, which were, a year ago, replaced by Muslim doctrines. Today, I will tell you why I am considering to shifting my belief Muslim to reincarnation. But before I do that, let me remind you about reincarnation. Reincarnation is the philosophical and religious concept that an aspect of a living being starts a new life in a different physical body or form after each biological death. It is part of doctrine of cyclic existence and a central tenet of all major Indian religions. In different words, we also refer to it also as rebirth or transmigration. Starting today, I have a tough decision to make. A decision on my religious stand. I have today wiped off my doubts about reincarnation. Its a tough decision that I will tonight involve and have a lengthy discussion with my daughter, my sons ...

I LOST A VILLAGE MATE TO UNSAFE ABORTION: VERY PAINFUL!

Image
Decades ago, probably three decades, as far as my ageing memory can recall, we painfully and remorsefully buried a young high school girl back in my village,  Ntimene Ya Muturi , amid remorseful cries from her family members. Burial that brought mourning to the entire village.  Mercy*(not her real name),  was the darling of the village, a model to the village girls, who envied her early success. Mercy  out shined  all the village girls in her academics to emerge the top village girl in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. She was the first girl from the village to join a national school. Her sudden death was a huge blow to the community that even  necessitated  the village elders to conduct a traditional ritual to spell out the would be evil spirits.   The cause of her death was immediately  neither known  to me nor to the mourners. We were all in a vacuum of uncertainty. The mourners, with their hands rested on their ...

AN ICON OF PEACE, LOVE AND UNITY HAS FALLEN: PAUL M'IKIUGU

Image
"Age is just a number", a common saying by an anonymous writer that we commonly use to defy our wrinkles and the age factor. I indeed agree with the anonymous writer that age is absolutely a number. That was a saying that never got erased from the lips of one old man we will live to treasure; an icon of peace, love and unity- Paul M'Ikiugu Muriorema.  A hero has gracefully fallen. A hero to the society and a foundation of success to many has fallen. A well of wisdom has dried. Paul M'Ikiugu Muriorema, 105 year plus defied the age factor to live a life of success against all odds. He is my grandfather, our grandfather and a great-grandfather to many grandsons and daughters. Your fall was a strong fall that has left positive impact in the lives of your generation. We therefore, celebrate, rejoice and make merry of the positive impact that now rubs across the shoulders of all your descendants. Rest in Peace Cucu Pauru. You were a bright and intelligent man who...

DREAMLAND PART 3

Image
The presence of blood stains right at my bedroom door was still worrying me. I had no idea whether my people were massacred by Jakim's loyalist or not. The silence in the house was like that of the grave. At the back of my mind, I had began cursing my self, cursing Christine Mueni for trapping me into her house last night. The Biblical story of Eve being lured by a snake to eat the forbidden fruit at the garden of Eden crossed my mind. "This snake must have been Mueni inform of a human being", I whispered to my inner soul as I continued to venomously curse Mueni.  Everything around the estate was quite. I sat down on my brown leather rest seat to compose myself on the next move. I knew my family is gone, gone never to be seen. Tears of sorrow flowed down my cheek hitting straight on the floor. "The devil is a liar, Mueni is a liar", I whispered to my inner soul a second time. While contemplating on my next move of action, intimate actions w...
